Library Receives a $34,200 Donation from Bank of America

“The HistoryMakers is an incredible resource for researchers. It provides access to untold personal stories of African Americans and offers insight into how their past contributions have shaped America..."-Vicki Coleman, Dean of Library Services

F.D. Bluford Library is excited to announce that we have received a $34,200 donation from Bank of America to gain access to The HistoryMakers Digital Archive. HistoryMakers is the largest African American oral history archive in the United States, and it will now be available to all faculty, staff, and students at NC A&T State University for the next two years.

As Vicki Coleman, Dean of Library Services notes, “The HistoryMakers is an incredible resource for researchers. It provides access to untold personal stories of African Americans and offers insight into how their past contributions have shaped America. We are appreciative of the generosity of Bank of America and their decision to fund this resource over the next two years.”

This gift also includes funding for two Student Ambassador positions. These students will help the Aggie community navigate, use, and integrate the archive into their research and learning.

The library looks forward to seeing the impact this gift will have on North Carolina A&T State University and we would like to thank Bank of America for their generosity!
